A contemporary of the abstract expressionists though often identified with minimalism, Martin was of the few woman artists who came to prominence in the predominately masculine art world of the late 1950s and 1960s, and became a particularly important role model for younger women and artists. This survey provides and overview of Martin's career, from lesser-known early experimental works through her striped and grided grey paintings and use of colour in various formats, to a group of her final works that reintroduce bold forms. A selection of drawings and watercolours is also included 600 10 Martin, Agnes,|d1912-2004|vExhibitions 600 14 Martin, Agnes,|d1912-2004 648 7 1900-talet|2sao 650 7 Konstnärer|2saogf 650 7 Målarkonstnärer|2sao 651 4 Förenta staterna 653 USA 655 7 Utställningskataloger|2saogf 655 7 Exhibition catalogs.|2fast 700 1 Morris, Frances|4edt 700 1 Bell, Tiffany|4edt 700 1 Ackermann, Marion|4ctb 700 12 Martin, Agnes,|d1912-2004.|tWorks.|kSelections 710 2 Tate Modern|4his 710 2 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany)|4his 710 2 Los Angeles County Museum of Art|4his 710 2 Solomon R.
