In Deadpool Vol. 3 Gerry Dugan and Brian Posehn Give us a much more emotionally jarring Deadpool story. This isn't something new, they haven't reinvented the Deadpool wheel, we've had plenty of stories that humanize or show a more serious side of Deadpool, but I must say The Good, The Bad, The Ugly story arc ranks among the best of them. This volume starts out comically enough with another throwback issue just like in Vol. 2 although by comparison not as funny, but it sets up the main story by giving us a look at a fling he had with a young woman named Carmelita (ya he totally sexed her up). Now if you've read the previous 2 volumes you know that Deadpool has been occasionally waking up to find that someone has drugged him and surgically removed one or more of his organs. In this volume, after foiling another drugged surgical removal of his organs, Deadpool goes to enlist the help of the Wolverine and Captain America who are both the opposite of overjoyed to see him. Later his search for answers will lead him to North Korea where he'll end up battling more than just the demons of his past, but also battling to save the life of his beloved Carmelita, and then some. I won't give any more away, this is another great Deadpool story |
